Every payment provider, scored for your business.
One sentence in. Every provider scored on published facts — fees, methods, coverage, licenses — with the reasons and an estimated monthly cost.
Claimed and verified by the providers themselves
Your words become criteria. The criteria become a ranking.
- 01
You describe it
Plain language, in your own words — what you sell, which markets, roughly how much a month, and how you want to get paid. No account, no form to fill in, no sales call.
- 02
We read it into criteria you can see and correct
A model reads your sentence into the same criteria the wizard asks for. It can only pick from our own lists, so it cannot invent a filter, a provider or a fee. Anything it had to assume is marked with a “?” on your results, and the full wizard changes any of it.
- 03
Every provider is scored on published facts
The ranking is not a model. It is deterministic, weighted scoring over all 1,379 providers, on four kinds of published fact — auditable, and the same for every provider, because there is no house provider to steer you toward.
Fees Published rates and fee model, turned into an estimated monthly cost at your volume. Methods The 118 payment methods we track, normalized across every provider.Coverage Countries served, sales channels, and settlement currencies.Licenses Regulatory permissions on file, from the registers we watch.
You described
“Swedish webshop selling supplements, about 40k a month, need Klarna and Swish, cheapest fees”
Marked with “?” = assumed from your text, and one tap from a fix.
Each result carries its reasons and an estimated monthly cost at your volume.
The same directory, as tools.
PaymentProviders.io publishes a free MCP server at https://mcp.paymentproviders.io/mcp. Connect it from Claude Code, Cursor or any MCP
client and the directory becomes callable — with the same deterministic scoring the website
runs. The read tools work without signing in.
claude mcp add --transport http paymentproviders https://mcp.paymentproviders.io/mcpOther clients take the same Streamable HTTP endpoint as a JSON entry. Signing in with a PaymentProviders.io account raises the hourly quota and unlocks introductions and listing management.

A licence is a fact.
We watch when it changes.
Every entry is a regulatory event observed on a financial register — granted, cancelled, revoked, status changed, delisted — cited to the regulator's own record. Weekly.
Cancelled - Authorised PI — previously Authorised Payment Institution
Authorised - applied to cancel (Applied to Cancel) — previously Authorised
Cancelled - Authorised EMI — previously Authorised Electronic Money Institution
Your listing, your facts.
Scores are computed from what each profile publishes, so the listing is the product. Take ownership of yours and keep it accurate.
Claim your listing
Prove you work at the company and the profile is yours: edit fees, methods, coverage and settlement, upload a logo, and choose which merchants you want introduced to you. Claimed listings carry a check beside the name.
Verified listing
The seal beside your name, in the directory and in the listing data the MCP server serves. Merchant leads arrive with the merchant's contact details, and the performance page opens up: rank, top-3 placements and leads by source. It does not move you up the ranking.

Describing, reading and ranking
What happens to the sentence I type?
It goes straight into the matcher. A model reads your words into the same criteria the wizard asks for — industry, market, payment methods, sales channels, monthly volume, average order and what matters most — and the scored results live at a link you can come back to. Nothing reaches a provider until you ask for an introduction.
Is the ranking done by AI?
No. A model reads your sentence; the ranking does not. Every provider is ranked by deterministic weighted scoring on published facts — fees, payment methods, country coverage and licenses — run identically across all 1,379 providers, and each result lists the reasons behind its score.
Can I correct what it read from my description?
Yes. Your results page shows every criterion it read out of your words, and marks with a “?” anything it had to assume. Open the full wizard to change any of them and score again.
How are providers ranked?
Against your stated requirements, on facts each profile publishes: fees and fee model, supported payment methods, countries and sales channels served, settlement, and regulatory licenses on file. There is no house provider — we don’t sell payment processing, and sponsored placements are always labeled.
Is PaymentProviders.io free for merchants?
Yes. Describing, browsing, comparing and matching are free, and there is no signup to start.
Can an AI agent do this instead of me?
The directory is published as an MCP server, so an agent can search, match, compare and request introductions with the same tools and the same scoring. The read tools work without signing in.
It starts with one sentence.
Describe your business and every provider is scored against it. Free, no signup to start, and your results live at a link you can come back to.
